What is the Story of the Prodigal Son?
There was a man who had two sons. One day, the younger son asked his father for his share of the inheritance. The father agreed, and the son took the money and left for a distant country. There, he spent all his wealth on careless living and soon found himself destitute.
Desperate and hungry, he decided to return home, hoping to work as a servant for his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and ran to embrace him. Overjoyed, the father ordered a feast to celebrate, saying, “For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.”
